A POLYMATH'S LIVING LABORATORY

An interdisciplinary inquiry into Fine Art,
Somatic Yoga, and the Vedic Sciences.

the polymath principle

A UNIFIED FRAMEWORK FOR ARTISTIC AND SCIENTIFIC STUDY

Ashwini serves as a living laboratory for the applied study of Fine Art, Engineering, Yoga, Ayurveda, Jyotish, and the Vedic sciences.

Rooted in the Vedic principle of Chatushshthi Kala the sixty-four classical arts and sciences this work recognizes art and science as interconnected domains of human knowledge, explored through rigorous study, practice, and lived experience.

SomaShakti™ science emerged as a practical framework for navigating the relationships between traditional knowledge systems, contemporary disciplines, and everyday human experience.

THE FOUR PILLARS OF SOMASHAKTI™ SCIENCE

AN INTEGRATED ARCHITECTURE OF KNOWLEDGE AND HUMAN MASTERY

IV.
CHITRA
SHASTRA

Integrating an M.A.Sc. in Electronics Engineering with the rigorous disciplines of Atelier Master Realism to study the mechanics of light, the structure of form, and the language of color through the living architecture of birds, flowers, and nature within The Ashwini Aviary.

I.
ASANA
KINETICS

SomaShakti™ Science applies principles of structural biomechanics, breath mechanics, and kinetic sequencing to examine the geometry of human posture and movement.

III.
AYURVEDA

Employing the foundational principles of Ayurveda, this pillar examines the relationships between nutrition, biological rhythms, elemental balance, and human physiology through the phases of life.

II.
HORASHASTRA
JYOTISH

Utilizing the mathematical calculations and symbolic frameworks of traditional Vedic Jyotish, this domain investigates cycles, timing, and planetary relationships through structured astrological analysis.

THE GOVERNING PRINCIPLE

Within the Vedic tradition, Aham Brahmasmi points toward the inseparability of the individual and the universal. Rather than approaching this statement as a belief to adopt, Ashwini engages it as a question tested through the integration of artistic, scientific, and contemplative disciplines.

The SomaShakti™ framework provides a practical means of investigation, drawing upon Yoga, Ayurveda, Jyotish, Fine Art, and Engineering to examine the relationships between perception, embodiment, environment, and human experience.

The Ashwini Aviary employs the disciplines of classical atelier realism, optics, engineering, and natural observation to investigate light, form, color, and perception through the living architecture of birds and nature.

The inner architecture and the external environment mirror a single governing order. You are the source. The inquiry begins with you.

the living laboratory

AN OPEN ACCESS LIBRARY OF YOGIC TEACHINGS & TRANSMISSION

Ashwini Sadekar, M.A.Sc., is an artist, engineer, yoga educator, Vedic Jyotish, and Ayurvedic nutrition practitioner whose work bridges Fine Arts, Engineering, Yoga, Ayurveda, and the Vedic sciences through the SomaShakti™ framework.

Rooted in a traditional Vedic upbringing in India and shaped by years of study within the living Yoga–Veda traditions of Rishikesh and Mysore, her work investigates Yoga as an engineering of embodiment, a systematic study of the relationships between body, breath, mind, behavior, and lived experience.

The Living laboratory gathers courses, lectures, practices, and ongoing investigations developed through decades of interdisciplinary study, teaching, and creative work.

LEGENDS OF
THE SKY

MASTER OIL MONOGRAPHS

The Ashwini Aviary integrates systems engineering, classical atelier realism, and direct observation to create master oil monographs inspired by the living architecture of birds and nature. Through the disciplined study of optics, color, anatomy, and perception, each original work represents hundreds of hours of training and craftsmanship, translating the complexity of the natural world into paintings intended to enrich, elevate, and energize spaces they inhibit.

  • "I came upon Ashwini's "Abundant Flow" in a Seattle cafe, and couldn't look away. The depth of color and light play are sophisticated and moving - the painting absolutely glows in any room. Her geometric style is a modern and fresh take on the still life. Ashwini was a pleasure to coordinate logistics with and made the sale simple and straightforward. This painting is a joy to look at every day, and I look forward to following Ashwini's career!"

    —Erin

  • "When I saw Ashwini’s brilliant Golden King painting, my heart jumped a little . The autumnal colors drew me in, I felt an instant connection to the natural world, and a sense of sweetness and ease. I still treasure taking in this piece daily, a genuine delight!"

    —Danny

  • "Ashwini, your work speaks to me on so many levels. I was one of those kids who organized her 120 colored pencils in gradient order. I'm also a birder. When I saw your work I fell in love with your approach to colors and the geometry of nature. My husband is also a birder and loved the Stellar’s Jay painting as Christmas gift. He has hung it in his home office so he can look at it during his work days. It hangs between two windows. Thank you again. Your painting is loved and in a good home."

    —Meris

  • "I have one of Ashwini’s bird paintings, her colors and detail bring so much joy and peace into my home."

    —Jill

  • "We have been following this talented artist through Gage Academy shows for a few years. My husband and I saw this painting and it really spoke to us. The colors and unique brushstroke styles are beautiful."

    —Megan and Mike Beckman

  • "Fortunate to have one of her roses in my home. The simple perfect beauty Ashwini captures is stunning. And even more so in person. It is as if each of her paintings contains a small essence of her hidden inside!"

    —Teresa

  • "Ashwini, once I got back home with your Art I immediately realized the best wall to place it- in front of the door. So everyone who come to visit us, can see it. Love it so much. 😍 We already hang it on. Thank you dear!"

    —Kristina

  • "As a bird nerd, I couldn't resist falling in love with Ashwini's geometric interpretation of the woodpecker. Adding it to my collection means the world to me, and supporting artists like Ashwini is truly a fortunate delight!"
